Text on Luke 4: 14-30, Jesus in Nazareth (in Galilee village)

Jesus, the servant chosen by God (biblical version of the Sower)

14 Jesus, filled with the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee. His reputation spread throughout the region.

15 He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all.

16 He also went to Nazareth, where he was raised, and he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, as was his habit. He stood up to read the Bible,

17 and he presented the scroll of Isaiah. By unrolling the parchment, he found the passage where it says:

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he appointed me the anointing to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to proclaim release to the captives, the blind recover sight, to bring deliverance to the oppressed

19 and proclaim the year of grace granted by God.

20 He rolled up the scroll, gave it to the attendant and sat down. In the synagogue, all eyes were on him.

21-Today even began, he said, to you who hear this prophecy of Scripture became reality.

22 None of his listeners remained indifferent: the message of grace that they had surprised them very much. So they said:-Is he not the son of Joseph?

23 Then he said: "You will not fail to apply myself saying this:" Physician, heal thyself "and tell me:" We heard what you have done in Capernaum. Make it so much here in your own town! "

24 And he added:" Really, I assure you: No prophet is accepted in his homeland.

25 Behold the truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel at the time of Elijah, when, for three and a half years, there has been no rain and a great famine raged throughout the country.

26 However, Elijah was sent to none of them, but to a widow who lived in Zarephath in the land of Sidon.

27 There were also many lepers in Israel at the time of the prophet Elisha. And yet, none has been cured. It Naaman the Syrian who was.

28 On hearing these words, all who were in the synagogue were angry.

29 They got up, dragged Jesus out of town to the summit of the mountain on which it was built, to hurl him into space.
